Assaults - Wulagi

Police

Police are investigating an incident in which five teenagers were assaulted in Wulagi overnight.

Several of the teenagers were punched and struck with a metal pole, while two are believed to have received cuts from a machete.

Police said the group were set upon by a group of three offenders. During the assault one of the victims received cuts to his arm and wrist while another suffered a cut to his leg.

A short time later Police pulled over a Toyota Prado which appears to have been used by the offenders earlier in the evening. A metal pole and two hammers were seized during a search of the vehicle.

Police are appealing to anyone with information about the attacks to come forward. Anyone with information should phone police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
