Assault - Palmerston Bus Exchange

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward following an assault that occurred at the Palmerston bus exchange at around 7.50pm last night.

A 25 year-old female was attacked by four youths after getting off a bus from Casuarina.

Police believe the four youths, a 12 year-old boy and three girls aged between 13 and 14, were on the same bus before assaulting the woman after arriving in Palmerston.

Sergeant Troy Stephens from Palmerston Police said the victim suffered grazes and bruising to her legs, head and face.

“This appears to be a completely unprovoked attack on an innocent member of the public.

Anyone who was in the area or who was on the bus from Casuarina or may have some information that would assist Police in their enquiries is requested to come forward.”  Sergeant Stephens added.

The four youths remain in custody and Police investigations are continuing.
