Arrests - Crime Series - Darwin

Police

Three men are currently in police custody after they broke into two businesses over night.

The offenders aged 27, 29 & 35 are alleged to have broken into the Winnellie Hotel on Winnellie Road, at about 12:30am this morning. The males appear to have smashed a side glass door to gain entry before removing a bottle of bourbon and a bottle of rum and fleeing.

At about 3:30am the trio then attended the Airport Hotel on McMillans Road in Jingili, where they smashed a glass door and stole more alcohol before fleeing in a white Ford utility.

A short time later Darwin City Police attended a disturbance on Toy Street in Parap after receiving reports of a vehicle being broken into. Members located the offenders at the scene and conveyed them to Darwin Watch House, where they remain.

Watch Commander, Rosanna De Santis, said this was a quick arrest and police expect to charge the offenders later today.

"NT Police are committed to catching these criminals who insist on creating a nuisance for business owners around Darwin" she said.
