Arrests - Assaults Darwin

Police

Two men will face court today in relation to a number of assault and robbery offences.

Members from the Tactical Response Group along with General Crime Detectives executed a search warrant at house in Grey on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of two men aged 24 and 29.

Both men are alleged to have been involved in an incident earlier this month where two males were assaulted and a phone stolen. Police are still calling for anyone who witnessed the assault on Coonawarra Road near the intersection of Bowen Street at about 5:00pm on February 1; the people involved are believed to have been travelling in a silver Holden Commodore and a maroon Toyota Camry.

The offenders are also alleged to have been involved in the assault of a 33-year-old man in Northlakes on Thursday. It is alleged the two offenders attended a Northlakes residence at about 3:30pm and chased the victim from the car park to the rear yard before assaulting him. His mobile phone was also stolen during the incident.

The older man was charged with 2 x aggravated robbery, 2 x assaults - serious harm, 1x aggravated assault. The 24-year-old was charged with 2 x aggravated robbery and various firearm and drug offences.

They will both appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
