Arrest Unlawful Entry and Stealing Katherine

Police

A 22 year-old Katherine man will appear in the Katherine Magistrates Court today for two recent unlawful entries.

The first unlawful entry occurred on Wednesday, 30 November at the Riverview Caltex, followed by another on Saturday, 3 December at the Katherine Sports & Recreation Club.

Acting Superintendent Clint Sims said that in both of the unlawful entries, the offender forcibly removed the security screens and broke the window to enter the buildings before stealing alcohol.

“I am extremely happy with the speedy work of both the Katherine Crime Scene Examination Unit and Forensic Services Fingerprint Section, in their positive identification of the offender through a fingerprint found at the second crime scene.

“It is a reminder once again to anyone thinking of committing similar property offences that we will find you.”

The man has been charged with 2 counts of aggravated entry of a building with intent to commit an offence, stealing and unlawful damage.
