Police have arrested two males aged 21 and 23 in relation to an assault and disturbance that occurred outside Annie’s Place in The Gap last night.

It is alleged that the 21-year-old and a 19-year-old victim were drinking at Annie’s Place on Traeger Avenue when an argument between the two occurred as they left the bar at around 11:00 pm.

The offender armed himself with a large stick and struck the victim across the face.

Police attended and arrested the male.

The 19-year-old was taken to hospital having received minor injuries and has since been released.

During this time, a 23-year-old male was also seen brandishing a large stick. Upon being ordered by Police to drop his weapon, the male threatened the attending members.

He was subsequently apprehended and arrested and is to be charged with resist Police, assault members of the Police Force, armed with an offensive weapon and disorderly behaviour in a public place.

Both offenders are to appear in the Alice Springs Court at a later date.
