A 43-year-old man has been charged with one count of unlawfully causing serious harm and one count of aggravated assault following an incident in the early hours of September 20th.

A 23-year-old man remains in hospital in a stable condition with facial injuries.

Police responded to a report of two men fighting on Smith Street on Tuesday morning after an altercation.

“The offender was located nearby and has been assisting Police with their inquiries.” said Sergeant Mark Bland of the General Crime Section.

The 43-year-old has been bailed and will appear in court early next month.
