Aggravated Assault and Robbery - Parap

Detectives from Major Crime & General Crime sections are investigating an aggravated robbery that is believed to have taken place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Sergeant Tony Henrys from Major Crime said, “A 57 year-old man was attacked and robbed of his cash after leaving the Parap Hotel at approximately 1.00 am this morning. The man was attacked with a rock in a grassed area at the corner of Woolner Road and Bishop Street, within view of the Stuart Highway.

“The male sustained serious head injuries before being found by a passer by at around 6.00 am this morning. He was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital by St Johns Ambulance and remains in a serious but stable condition.

“Police are appealing for witnesses that might have seen the attack, or people in the general area at the corner of Woolner Road and Bishop Street.
