Members from the Southern Traffic Operations Unit dealt with two hoons this morning in Alice Springs.
Sergeant Conan Robertson said that Police were investigating a hooning incident that occurred on Mimosa Court on Friday 14 October when a second incident occurred in front of them at around 8:15 am.
“Whilst they were travelling to an address to speak to the 18-year-old alleged offender, members witnessed a 51-year-old in a Holden Ute conducting a ‘burnout’ on Lovegrove Drive, just metres from a highly visible marked Police car,” said Sergeant Roberston.
“The vehicle was apprehended moments later and the driver was spoken to and issued with a Traffic Infringement Notice. His vehicle was also defected.
“Being a work vehicle, I can’t imagine his boss would have been impressed.”
