16 Year Old Loses Fight for Life

Police

Alice Springs Police are saddened to report that the 16 year–old female passenger injured in a crash on Thursday, December 22nd has died.

A Ford Festiva and a Toyota Hilux collided at the intersection of Elder Street and Milner Road at 4.45 pm.  Both vehicles ended up on their roofs after the crash.

The Alice Springs Major Crash Unit are continuing their investigations and are calling for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Detective Senior Sergeant Debra Gabolinscy, Officer in Charge of the Major Crash Investigation Unit said they are particularly interested in hearing from the driver of a white or cream coloured Holden Commodore, possibly a VL model, who was travelling north on Milner Road at the time.

“Unfortunately the death of this young woman brings our road toll to 45 compared to 48 for the same time last year.  It is a tragic reminder for all road users in the Territory to obey road rules and drive safely.”  Detective Senior Sergeant Gabolinscy added.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 131 444 or phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
