Northern Territory Emergency Service volunteers were called to conduct a vertical rescue last night after a woman became stranded on a ledge at Simpsons Gap.
NTES members received the report just before 6pm that a 20-year-old German tourist was trapped on a ledge approximately 35 metres up the Eastern face of Simpsons Gap.
Four volunteers and one NTES staff member attended the scene along with Parks and Wildlife rangers and a St John Ambulance crew.
Rescuers took approximately three hours to bring the woman down safely.
She sustained mild hyperthermia but was otherwise unharmed.
