Members from the Commanders Tactical Team have arrested a 19-year-old male in relation to the unlawful entry at the Winnellie Hotel which occurred on Saturday night.

It is alleged the male was involved with stealing of the white Ford Laser from a Leanyer residence on Saturday night and has then used the vehicle to break in to the Winnellie Hotel bottle shop. The 19-year-old and two co-offenders have then stolen 34 bottles of assorted spirits.

Members from the Commanders Tactical Team yesterday located the stolen vehicle burnt out in a monsoonal drain in bushland off Vanderlin Drive.

The 19-year-old male was arrested yesterday afternoon and has been charged with:
Aggravated Unlawful use motor vehicle
Aggravated Unlawful entry
Stealing
Damage property, prepare, commit, conceal.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Darwin Magistrates court today.
