Unlawful entry and stealing - Berry Springs

Police

Members from the Commanders Tactical Team are currently investigating the theft of a safe from a Berry Springs service station over night.

It is believed the offender(s unlawfully entered the service station on Cox Peninsular Road between 12:30 am and 3:00 am. They are alleged to have cut a number of cables located in a metre box outside the shop before entering and removing a safe from under the front counter.

The safe contained a substantial amount of cash.

Police were alerted to the incident this morning after a staff member arrived at work to find the safe missing. A crime scene has been established.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with a number of motorists who were observed travelling inbound on Cox Peninsular Road past the service station between 1:30 am and 2:00 am this morning.

Detective Sergeant Andy Bedwell is calling for these motorists to contact police.

"CCTV from a nearby premise clearly shows a number of vehicles travelling past the service station at the time of the incident. Police are keen to speak with these motorists as they may have information valuable to the investigation".
