Unlawful entry and stealing - Aurora Kakadu

Police

NT Police are calling for public assistance after a resort in Kakadu was broken into over night.

It is believed some time between 10:00 pm and 4:45 am this morning, unknown persons have unlawfully entered the Aurora Kakadu Resort situated on the Arnhem Highway, before removing two safes from the premises. It appears the offenders used a drill or other electrical equipment to cut the safe from its position and place it on a trolley before wheeling it to the car park.

Early this morning police located the one of safes 20 kilometres from the resort. Fortunately, it appears this safe contained only a small amount of cash and the offenders are believed to have obtained only a minimal amount of currency from it.

However, the second safe remains outstanding and is believed to contain a substantial amount of money. Police are urging anyone who was in the area between 10:00 pm and 4:45 am or who may have further information in relation to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
