Unlawful entries - Rapid Creek

Members of the Commanders Tactical Team are currently investigating a series of unlawful entries that occurred in Rapid Creek over night.

Police received a call at 6:20am this morning, reporting that six businesses in the Rapid Creek Shopping Centre complex had been unlawfully entered some time between the hours of 10:00pm yesterday and 6:00am this morning.

It appears the offenders smashed a number of glass windows in order to gain entry to the shops before fleeing the scene with various items including, cash, electrical items and a laptop.

A 17-year-old male youth was apprehended today in relation to the incident and is currently assisting police with their investigations.

Police urge any one who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has further information in relation to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Sergeant Andy Bedwell says "CCTV is an extremely useful tool and I urge all business owners to seriously think about installing these systems and if they are in place, this is definitely a timely reminder to maintain them".

"We do all that we can to apprehend offenders, however the added benefit of footage certainly makes our job easier and puts these guys behind bars quicker" he said
