Unlawful entries CBD -Alice Springs

Alice Springs police are investigating a spate of unlawful entries on premises in the CBD at the weekend.

The Alice Springs Veterinary Clinic in Bath Street was broken into sometime between 10pm on Friday night and 7.45am on Saturday. Offenders gained entry by forcing the front door of the building before rummaging through the offices. Nothing appears to have been stolen.

First National Framptons in Hartley Street was also the target of offenders at the weekend. Cash and keys were stolen after thieves forced the front doors to the building some time before 3.45am on Saturday.

The Anglicare Office in the Jock Nelson Building was also unlawfully entered over the weekend. Thieves forced the office door to gain entry before making off with cash, taxi vouchers and a cheque book from the safe. The incident was report to police just after 5pm on Sunday.

Thieves also ransacked several offices after gaining access to Anangu House on the corner of Bath Street and Gregory Terrace.

Among the offices unlawfully entered were Golden Home Real estate, Southern Cross Television, Cancer Council, Adam Giles Electorate Office, Volunteering SA and NT and Computer Solutions. It appears a quantity of cash was stolen from two of the offices.

It appears offenders gained entry to the ground floor of the building overnight on Friday by smashing the glass doors with a fire hydrant.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information about the break-ins to phone police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
