Unlawful entries and vehicle interferences – Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police are urging residents to ensure their houses and cars are secure after another series of unlawful entries and vehicle inferences overnight.

Between the hours of 1:00 pm and 6:00 am, five houses were unlawfully entered, five vehicles were stolen and five vehicles were interfered with.

These incidents occurred in the Northside, Eastside, Larapinta and Golf Course areas.

Police have recovered two of the five stolen vehicles from last night and also three vehicles and scooter that had been reported stolen in the last week.

"Simple home security measures such as locked doors and windows with security screens can be a deterrent for offenders" Superintendent Michael White said.

"We advise members of the public to keep their doors locked, even when they are at home or in the garden.

"We are asking members of the public who notice any vehicles parked in common areas of units or in public places, that are not normally parked there, to call police" he said.

Police urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the areas, or who may have any information in relation to the incidents, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
