NT Police are currently at the scene of a two vehicle crash on Bagot Road in Ludmilla.

At about 5:30pm police received a report of a two vehicle crash near the Bagot Community. Two outbound lanes and the inbound lanes on Bagot Road were closed for approximately half an hour and police diverted traffic around the scene.

Two of the inbound lanes remain closed.

NT Fire and Rescue attended and St John Ambulance conveyed one occupant to Royal Darwin Hospital.

Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen urges all motorists to avoid the area if possible.

"The crash has caused extensive traffic disruption, so if possible please use an alternative route to get home" she said.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
