NT Police have arrested two men in connection the stabbing death of a 47 year old male at a birthday party at Dundee Beach, south east of Darwin last night.

It's believed the deceased was fatally stabbed during an altercation with guests at the party at about 9.30pm.

The man's 18 year old son and a 23 year old man are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

The 23 year old man had earlier been taken to Royal Darwin Hospital under police guard where he was treated for minor lacerations.

A crime scene has been established at the beach house where the party was held whilst Crime Scene Investigators and detectives carry out further investigations.
