A 32-year-old woman will appear in court after she allegedly caused a two-car collision while driving with a blood alcohol content of .246 per cent.

Police were called to the Northside shops just before 12.30pm yesterday following a report of a two-car crash. They found the female driver of a Nissan Patrol travelling along Tietkens Avenue had collided with a Holden Shuttle van which was waiting to make a left turn from Babbage Street.

The male driver of the Holden and the driver of the Nissan both escaped injury. The woman was arrested and found to be driving with a blood alcohol content of .246 per cent.

She has been charged with high range drink driving and driving without due care. She has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on September 28.
