Teen arrested for shovel attack –Alice Springs

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a man with a shovel.

Police received a report just before 2am on Friday (April 16) of a disturbance at a Head Street residence. They found that a 22-year-old man had been taken by ambulance to Alice Springs Hospital after allegedly being assaulted with a shovel during an argument. The victim has been medivaced to Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of a spinal injury.

The alleged offender was arrested and charged with unlawfully causing serious harm. He has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today.
