Teen arrested for robbery and ram raid –Alice Springs

A 15-year-old youth has been arrested in relation to robbery and a ram raid earlier this week.

Police allege the boy and five co-offenders stole a Toyota Prado from the McDonnell Range Caravan Park on Wednesday evening. They then drove to the Head Street Oval where they assaulted and robbed two 18-year-old males just after 1.30am. They then allegedly drove to the Sadadeen shops where they used the vehicle to ram raid one of the businesses and stole a large quantity of alcohol.

In the early hours of Thursday morning the vehicle was located abandoned on Undoolya Road . Police investigations led to the arrest last night of one of the offenders. The 15-year-old was arrested by police near Flynn Drive just after 6.30pm last night.

He has been charged with:
Two counts of robbery
Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
Unlawful entry
Unlawfully damaging property
Stealing.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today.

Police investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.
