Detectives from the Katherine Investigations Unit are appealing for public assistance after the discovery of the body of a 52-year-old man in a house in Pearce Street, Katherine yesterday.

Police were alerted to the death at about 5:45pm after two visitors located the man deceased in the lounge room. A cause of death has not yet been determined.

A crime scene has been established and Crime Scene Investigators from Darwin are assisting Katherine Police with the investigation.

Police urge anyone who may have been in the area of Pearce Street in the last 48 hours or who may have any information in relation to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or on Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
