Five people have been charged with murder after the suspicious death of a 47-year-old woman at Salt Lake Outstation last month.

Major Crime Detectives and Alyangula Police were alerted to the death by the Health Clinic staff after the woman was taken to the clinic by a group of people at 1:30 pm on Saturday 6 November.

The woman suffered injuries to her head and body consistent with having been assaulted.

A 58-year-old woman and two men aged 40 and 39 were charged with murder yesterday.

The 58-year-old woman will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court today. The two men aged 40 and 39 are due to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court tomorrow.

On Monday 8 November, a 49-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were charged with murder, they have since been remanded in custody.
