Suspicious Death Katherine - update #4

Police

Detectives from the Katherine Investigations Unit are continuing to investigate the stabbing death of a 52-year-old man at a house in Pearce Street, Katherine on Tuesday.

Two males aged 16 and 25-years-old have been arrested in relation to the incident and are currently in police custody assisting with the investigation.

Police are seeking assistance from the public in locating an Apple IPAD (Serial Number GB021P43ETV), which is believed to be connected with the death.

The IPAD is about the size of an A4 piece of paper and may be in a black case. It is unlikely there would be many of these in Katherine especially as it is one of the newly released 3G IPADs.

Superintendent Brent Warren said: "A man has died in tragic circumstances and his family would really appreciate your assistance in helping us to find answers for them."

Please see attached still images of four persons of interest taken from a CCTV camera in the vicinity of BP Service Station at about 1.30 am on the morning of Tuesday 22 June 2010.

A significant quantity of CCTV video footage has been obtained from businesses throughout the Katherine CBD which has generated a number of lines of enquiry.

The trial camera established in partnership between the Katherine Chamber of Commerce, Katherine Town Council and the NT Police has proven to be particularly valuable.

Police urge anyone who may have any information in relation this item of property or who may be able to identify the persons of interest to contact them on 131444.
