Suspicious Death - Katherine - Update #2

Detectives from the Katherine Investigations Unit are continuing to investigate the suspicious death of a 52-year-old man at a house in Pearce Street, Katherine on Tuesday.

Police were alerted to the death after two friends of the man located him deceased in his lounge room. An autopsy was conducted yesterday revealing the man died as a result of a stab wound to his neck.

A witness depicted in CCTV footage from the BP Service Station on Katherine Terrace has been located and spoken to. Line searches of the area are being carried out, interviews are being conducted with a number of potential witnesses and Police are reviewing CCTV from a number of other sites in and around the Katherine CBD.

Police are still looking to speak with a number of potential witnesses who were in the vicinity of Pearce Street, Katherine Terrace and the BP Service Station between midday Monday 21 and midday Tuesday 22 June 2010.

Police urge anyone who may have any information in relation to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or on Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
