Stranded Party - Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police were alerted to a stranded party at about 7:44am today after AUSSAR reported a beacon had been activated 10kms south of Ross River Station.

It appears the party of two Dutch Nationals became stranded after their Toyota Troop Carrier became bogged at a river crossing.

Alice Springs Police attended the scene and located the 53-year-old man and 38-year-old female safe and well at about 10:00am. The vehicle was conveyed back to Alice Springs by Police.

Duty Superintendent Craig Ryan says "Police remind the public again to stay away from unknown roads and try to limit travel during severe weather as the Southern Region has experience over the last week"
