Stolen Firearms - Malak

Police

The elevated house on Renner Court is believed to have been unlawfully entered sometime between 1130 and 330pm on Monday. It appears the offender(s) gained access through an unsecured door after jumping the fence from the adjacent park.

Four guns including a Lee Enfield 22 calibre single shot Rifle, 2 x Lee Enfield 303 calibre bolt action rifle and a Winchester 22 calibre break action single shot rifle were stolen from a gun safe at the premises along with an amount of alcohol.

On the same day three youths were caught on CCTV attempting to unlawfully enter a house on Prowse Circuit. The vision clearly shows three male youths attempting to enter the house through a back window.

Police believe the incidents may be linked and are calling on the public to identify the offenders shown in the vision.

Detective Sergeant Andy Bedwell said any one who can identify the male is urged to contact police.

"The incidents occurred in the same time frame in a very close proximity, so there is likelihood they are linked"

"We are calling for public assistant and urge any one who may have further information to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stopers on 1800 333 000. It is always concerning to have firearms out in the community when we don't know who has them" he said.
