A woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man in the back at an Erumba Street unit.

Police received a report just after 4pm on Saturday that a man had been stabbed to the back with a knife during an argument.

The 44-year-old male victim was taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment and the 53-year-old alleged offender was arrested at the scene.

She has been charged with aggravated assault and possessing an offensive weapon. She has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on September 19.
