A man has been arrested and a woman is in hospital following a stabbing at an Alice Springs Town Camp last night.

Police received a report just after 2.30am this morning that a 21-year-old woman had been stabbed during an argument at the Larapinta Valley Town Camp.

The woman was taken to Alice Springs Hospital with numerous stab wounds while the alleged offender was arrested at a nearby house a short time later.

He has been charged with:

Aggravated assault
Intend cause serious harm
Armed with an offensive weapon

The 29-year-old man was refused bail and appeared in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
