NT Police are seeking public help in their investigation into a serious sexual assault in Bakewell on Sunday.

Major Crime Detectives say the assault was reported to Palmerston police at about 10:00am yesterday where it was alleged a 24?year-old woman was walking along Lambrick Avenue when she was attacked.

They say that some time between 6:30 and 7:00pm the victim is alleged to have been dragged into scrubland known as The Palmerston Escarpment by an unknown male offender(s) before being sexually assaulted.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area between 6:00 and 7:00pm on Sunday 16th May 2010 is urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on1800 333 000.
