Series of vehicle break-ins - Darwin City

Police

Members from the Commanders Tactical Team are calling for public assistance after a series of vehicle break-ins in Darwin City over the past three weeks.

A total of seven vehicles were unlawfully entered at the Evolution tower on Gardiner Street in Darwin's CBD between 11:30 pm Monday and 12:30 am Tuesday morning.

The alleged offender appears to have smashed a window to each vehicle in order to gain access before removing an amount of cash and jewellery and fleeing the scene.

CCTV taken from the scene depicts a male entering the gates of the residence at about 11:30 pm; he is seen hiding behind a vehicle waiting for the gates to open before running in when a resident arrives home.

About three weeks ago a similar incident happened where a number of vehicles were unlawfully entered at the same complex.

Police are interested in speaking with the male depicted in the footage.

He is described as:

A Caucasian male
20 - 35-years-old
Wearing 3/4 white pants with a blue polo shirt, grey bucket hat, white running shoes and carrying a red bag at the time of second offence.

Police urge anyone with information in relation to the incidents to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
