Robbery and assault - Alice Springs

NT Police are calling for public assistance after a 33-year-old female was assaulted Thursday morning 40km north of Alice Springs.

The female driver was stopped on the side of the road for a break when a white van, possibly a Wicked travel van, pulled up behind her. A man has approached the vehicle to ask for directions and then demanded money.

The offender has then punched the victim in the head and stolen her purse which was sitting on the passenger's seat. The offender has then sped off with his female passenger who was standing next to the van

The offender is described as being:
Late 20s to early 30s
Dark brown hair
Slim build
Spoke with a German accent
Wearing a gray poly-fleece jacket with a zip

The female accomplice is described as being:
Skinny build
Wearing a light coloured long sleeve top and grey tracksuit pants.

Vehicle Description:
Wicked travel van
Old SA number plates
Red and black bold writing
Black and green curly lines all over the van
