River watch advice - Alice Springs

Alice Springs residents are advised that the low level causeways in the town have been closed due to heavy rain in the past 24 hours.

Motorists are asked to take care when driving in and around the CBD as the River Watch is currently at Level A which is the lowest category and causes a small flow across the causeways. The Stott Terrace bridge and Taffy Pick crossing remain open. Motorists are also advised where possible to plan their travel from work at an earlier or later time than usual to avoid traffic congestion in the area.

Residents are also reminded of the dangers of swimming or wading in the Todd River and are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Further updates will be issued later in the day.
