River watch advice #3– Alice Springs

Alice Springs residents are advised that the River Watch for the Todd River has now reached Level B.

This means that all the low level causeways are closed and the Taffy Pick crossing has also been closed as at 10pm tonight. Residents in the Golf Course area are advised the Power and Water access road has now been opened to the public.

The Stott Terrace Bridge remains open for access to the East side.

The Alice Springs Local Counter Disaster Committee has been convened and is monitoring the situation. The most recent advice from NRETA's Flood Forecasting Centre in Alice Springs is that Wigleys Rockhole is at 1.87 metres and rising, the Big Dipper is at 1.30 metres and falling, and Anzac Oval is at 2.45 metres and rising.

Further rain is expected in the next two days and the Counter Disaster Committee will continue to monitor the situation and further advices will be issued as they come to hand. For further information go to
