River watch advice #2 – Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs residents are advised that the low level causeways in the town remain closed and the River Watch level remains at Level A.

Level A is the lowest threat level and is declared when water flows over the bed causeways causing their closure. The Regional Counter Disaster Controller is monitoring the situation and has received advice that while levels may continue to rise later today, the threat category is unlikely to change with the easing of rain in the area.
Motorists are asked to take care when driving in and around the CBD area. The Stott Terrace bridge and Taffy Pick crossing remain open.
Residents are also reminded of the dangers of swimming or wading in the Todd River and are asked to avoid the area if possible.
