Police received a report yesterday from a member of the public, after two gun safes were located in the Pine Forest off Gunn Point Road in Howard Springs.

Members from the Command Tactical Team attended the location and confirmed that the safes were from an unlawful entry in Howard Springs which occurred on 18 February.

The offenders forced entry to the rural residence before fleeing with the two safes containing six hand guns and four rifles.

Police also recovered an Enfield 30.06 bolt action rifle, reported stolen from the property. This gun had been damaged and thrown into the bush.
