Police are investigating the escape of a prisoner from the Low Security Cottages at the Alice Springs Correctional Centre yesterday.

Peter Dixon, 44, was last seen at the cottages just after 8pm last night. He was wearing a prison-issue green sweater, blue jeans and work boots. He was noticed missing just after midnight .

Police have issued a photo of Dixon and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
