A man has been injured after his helicopter crashed near the Nemen Cattle Station on the Sturt Plateau today.

NT Police received a report that the helicopter had crashed approximately 12 kilometres from the station homestead just after 10 am.

The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the helicopter, sustained non life threatening injuries.

It's expected he will be medivaced to Katherine for treatment.

Mataranka police are attending the scene and no further details are available at this time.
