Pedestrian Struck - Bagot Road

NT Police are investigating an incident where a 26-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a car on Bagot Road in Ludmilla just before 7:00pm last night.

Crash Investigators will be examining the scene this afternoon in an effort to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

A section of Bagot Road will be closed between Fitzer Drive and Totem Road between 2:00 and 3:30 pm today. All three outbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be diverted down Fitzer Drive near MacDonalds Ludmilla.

It is alleged a 26-year-old man attempted to cross Bagot Road near the United Service Station in Ludmilla when he was struck by a Hyundai Getz. The 22-year-old male driver attempted to take evasive action, however the pedestrian was hit by the right side of the vehicle.

The pedestrian was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance where he remains in the ICU in a critical but stable condition.

The vehicle has been seized by police for examination.

Police are calling for any one who may have witnessed the crash to contact them on 131 444.
