Official Launch of the Traffic and Specialist Services Command and release of Operation RAID Statistics

Media are invited to attend the official Launch of the Traffic and Specialist Services Command.

Commander Kate Vanderlaan has been appointed to head up the section that is aimed at bringing together Territory-wide policing services.

Commander Vanderlaan says "The Specialist Services Command will oversee Divisions including Emergency Operations and Prosecutions... as well as the Tactical Response Group."

"In terms of traffic enforcement the new Command will consolidate already existing sections to streamline operations."

In addition, Commander Vanderlaan will release Territory statistics from Operation RAID - Remove All Impaired Drivers.

The Australian and New Zealand campaign ran from Friday November the 26th to midnight Sunday December the 12th.

Commander Vanderlaan says "Good work by Territory police saw almost 11-thousand motorists stopped and tested over the 17 day period, resulting in hundreds of traffic offences."
