A 34 year old NT Police Brevet Sergeant serving in a remote Territory Community was issued a notice of suspension last night pending the outcome of an investigation by the Investigation Branch, Department of Defence.

The officer is being investigated for fraud offences against the Commonwealth Criminal Code Act.

The Northern Territory Police Ethical and Professional Standards Command are assisting the Department of Defence as required.

No further information is available with regards to this matter while the circumstances remain subject to further investigation by the Department of Defence.
