The rear of the vehicle has slid sideways and as the driver tried to gain control he overcorrected and mounted a gutter, striking three out of six pedestrians that were walking on the footpath. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting a brick pillar, approximately five meters from the road.

Police arrived only moments after the crash and several members of the public witnessed the incident.
