Man charged – Hidden Valley

It is alleged that the offender became agitated after being informed by security that he could not move his Kenworth heavy rigid truck out of a secure compound.

Police were called to the parking lot of the Hidden Valley Race Track at approximately 9:40 pm after receiving reports of the disturbance. The male then returned to his vehicle and drove through the locked gates, causing them to swing open, striking a police member.

A search of the vehicle was also conducted, locating a set of knuckle dusters.

The male was arrested and conveyed to the Darwin Watch House where he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.023 percent.

He was charged with:

Drive Alcohol in Blood Vehicle GVM >15tonne
Resist police in execution of duty
Possess, use, carry prohibited weapon
Assault Police
Fail to obey direction of police officer.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.
