Man arrested for numerous traffic offences

At about 8:00 pm the offender began driving his Toyota Landcruiser through Moil, Wulagi and Knuckey Lagoon. Whilst travelling he drove into fire hydrants, wheelie bins, fences and other objects, subsequently causing a significant amount of damage.

Less than an hour later Police located the man in his vehicle, bogged in a ditch near the Campbell and Thorngate Road intersection in Holtze.

He was arrested and participated in a breath analysis, which returned a medium range blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent. He was then taken to Royal Darwin Hospital where a sample of blood was taken to by analysed for drugs.

He is expected to be interviewed and charged later today.

Police are calling for witnesses in relation to the event, and ask that anyone that may have seen a white Toyota Landcruiser crashing into the above mentioned items, to contact police on 131 444.
