Four men will appear in court after police seized 15 kg of Kava from their vehicle yesterday.

Police pulled over the Mitsubishi Magna for a traffic apprehension near the Barunga community around 2pm yesterday. A search of the vehicle resulted in police locating 338 bags of Kava weighing 15 kg in the boot of the vehicle.

Four male occupants of the vehicle have been arrested and charged with possessing a trafficable quantity of Kava and supplying Kava without a licence.

Three of the men aged 19, 21 and 38 have been bailed to appear in court at a later date, while the fourth man, aged 49, was remanded in custody to appear in the Katherine Court tomorrow (Mon Aug 9).
