Juveniles apprehended for criminal damage –Alice Springs

Five juveniles have been apprehended in relation to nine incidents of interfering with motor vehicles in Alice Springs at the weekend.

Members of the Property Crime Reduction Unit are investigating reports of damage to cars at various locations around the Alice Springs CBD over the weekend. Most had their windows smashed and property stolen from the vehicle. Property including laptops, cameras, mobile phones, clothing and cash was stolen from several of the cars. Most of the property has since been recovered.

Police apprehended five juveniles aged between 11 and 15. The boys are being interviewed and will be considered for Youth Diversion.

Police are again warning people to ensure no valuables are left in vehicles.
