Katherine Police are calling for public assistance in relation to an indecent exposure incident that occurred in Katherine this morning.

It is alleged an unknown male exposed himself to a 13-year-old female in Stutterd Street at about 7.30am this morning.

The victim was walking in the direction of the Victoria Highway when the offender who was walking in the opposite direction, allegedly spoke to her and then exposed himself.

The girl fled the area and reported the matter to Police.

The male offender is described to be in his mid forties, of Aboriginal appearance with short dark hair and no facial hair and at the time of the incident was wearing shorts, a grey T shirt and no shoes.

Police are seeking public assistance in identifying this male. Any one who may have witnessed the incident or has further information is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
