Police allege the men, aged 21 and 22, were travelling at speeds well in excess of 160 kilometres per hour while narrowly missing colliding with other vehicles.

The drivers were travelling along Bagot Road from Darwin City towards Casuarina before they were apprehended by police.

Both drivers are to be summonsed for the following offences: Exceed the speed limit by more than 45km/h Drive in a dangerous manner
