Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a hit and run incident on Trower Road over night.

At about 7:20pm a 20-year-old woman was struck by a motor vehicle in front of Rapid Creek Shops.

Police and Saint John Ambulance attended the scene.

The victim was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Darwin Hospital, to be treated for possible spinal/ head injuries, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

It is believed a silver station wagon four wheel drive was involved in the incident and Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has further information, to contact them on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
